UFC 209 News: Nurmagomedov v Ferguson called off.

Latest news from the UFC is that the title fight between Kahbib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson has been cancelled after the Dagestani fighter was taken to hospital with weight mangement issues.

A UFC statement said that the co-main event at UFC 209 in Las Vegas had been called off due to doctors orders.

Taken to hospital on Thursday, Nurmagomedov had apparently been struggling to make the required 155 lb weight. After being treated and discharged he still failed to make the Friday official early weigh ins.

Tony Ferguson said very disappointingly "I prepared hard for this fight it sucks man, I wished him good luck on twitter. They wanted to cut my pay I worked so hard for this man it sucks."

It is not yet confirmed if the fight is to be rescheduled for another date.

We wish you a speedy recovery Kahbib.

News announced recently about Tom Lowlor's positive drugs test violation back on October 10th 2016 reveals Lowlor himself has since been honest and upfront about what was found in his system. On Friday 24th Feb 2017 the USADA (US Anti Doping Agency) named the banned substance as Ostarine.

According to MMAFighting, Ostarine is a selective androgen receptor module (SARM) giving the same benefits as anobolic steroids, retaining and producing lean muscle. The substance is not aavilable on perscription in the USA and any unauthorised use may cause serious side effects.

Dana White and the Connor McGregor - Floyd Mayweather saga.

Dana White is not giving in to pressure and has insisted that Connor McGregor will not be facing Floyd Mayweather in his next fight.

However, both McGregor and Mayweather insist that that they are keen to meet, in a boxing ring, that will probably be the richest prize money in the history of all combat sports.

The Dubliner, McGregor is currently taking some time out until the birth of his first child but still has four fights of his contract left with the UFC
White has angrily stated that his organisation won't just sit back and allow the big bout to happen without being involved. He said protectively, "such a move would be the stupidest in history."

Mayweather has since urged McGregor to speak to his bosses at the UFC who has previosly stubbornly stated that he will be fighting Mayweather next with or without the UFC.

No doubt the saga will be taking many twists and turns as time plays out but money speaks louder than words and that will be the ultimate decider in the end. That should also turn up a lot more heat on the situation between the three of them as the saga continues. McGregor is bound to make a scene if he doesn't get things his own way and with every action there is a reaction. White is equally as stubborn when he wants to be and won't allow himself to be dictated to on the matter.

Whatever happens we can expect plenty to come in the war of words before any such big fight night can be agreed, which doesn't look anytime closer as far as the MMA bosses are concerned.

Floyd Mayweather talks Connor McGregor

Floyd Mayweather explains to boxing fans why they should not to underestimate the Irish born UFC fighter.

"Because everytime Conor McGregor go out there and compete and win, he'll do it standing up.  When Conor McGregor did lose, he lost on the ground. He didn't lose standing up. So he's a hell of a  fighter and he's a very, very tough competitor and he has the will to win." Said Mayweather.

"The UFC gloves is no different to boxing gloves. They're just a little bit smaller, but if a guy got  power, he got power And Conor McGregor got power!"

-Floyd Mayweather
